Methods of Harvesting Radiofrequency Energy for Long-Term Wireless Body Area Network
Substantial advancements in Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) have formed state-of-the-art prospects in fitness tracking, wearable technology, and healthcare. Nonetheless, a significant obstacle still exists: WBAN devices' short battery life. Regular battery replacement or recharging is frequently necessary due to this limitation, which can be annoying and inconvenient for users. The potential of RF energy harvesting to extend the long-term operational lifespan of WBANs is examined in this study. WBAN devices provide a promising way to overcome power constraints by converting ambient radio frequency (RF) signals from nearby wireless foundations like Wi-Fi, cellular networks, and Bluetooth into useful electrical energy. We present a thorough analysis of RF energy harvesting systems, assessing their viability, effectiveness, and possible power outputs, especially with regard to their applicability to WBANs. We also examine how radiofrequency energy harvesting might be incorporated into these systems and how this might improve their performance.
