Design and Analysis of an Efficient Fuzzy Rulebased Approach for Path Reliability Enhancement in Manets
A mobile ad-hoc network depends on uninterrupted routes for efficacious communication. The changing topologies of mobile ad-hoc network make it difficult to maintain reliable routing. This proposed work introduces a Mamdani rule based fuzzy logic mechanism to determine the most reliable route in mobile ad-hoc network which consists of three input variables; hop count, path history and path loss. By using fuzzy inference rules, a new parameter called “path reliability” is generated as an output variable. The routing process adopts a path with the highest path reliability value, assuring data transmission from source to destination throughout the network. The result demonstrates the extensive improvement in routing performance for networks having dynamic topology. Thus, it is feasible to use a fuzzy logic-based routing mechanism to enhance the routing performance of mobile ad-hoc network (MANET).
