A Self-Calibration Method for DOA Estimation of Quasi-Stationary Signals with a Partly Calibrated Array

In this study, a novel self-calibration method for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation of quasi-stationary signals (QSSs) with a partly calibrated array is introduced. First, an initial DOA estimation is performed using the calibrated sensors, and the actual array response matrix is estimated through tensor decomposition of a tensor constructed by stacking the local auto-covariance matrices of the received signals. Then, the array error matrix is estimated by combining the estimated array response matrix with the initial DOA estimation results. Finally, the steering vectors are calibrated, and the DOA estimation is performed based on the calibrated vectors. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through simulations, leading to high accuracy in estimating both error matrix and DOAs.
