DermIQ: An Intelligent Skin Disease Detection System using Machine Learning

Skin diseases affect millions of people across the globe, and prevention of complications and improvement of outcomes often require promptness in diagnosis. However, the limited access to dermatological care in underserved areas results in delayed treatments. This study thus presents an AIbased skin disease detection system, addressing the above plight through early diagnosis and boosting accessibility of care. Using advanced machine learning algorithms trained with a large dataset of images related to skin conditions, the system recognizes with high precision various skin problems, which may vary from common ailments to severe cancers such as melanoma. It is a real-time tool for analysis and diagnostic suggestions, made user-friendly for the professionals in healthcare and the general public. In addition, it can provide personalized skin care recommendations and trend monitoring, hence belonging to the prior arm of skin health maintenance. The right to diagnosis will revolutionize dermatology and lead to enhanced global health outcomes, especially in low-income countries, through this AI-based solution.
