Enhanced Security Protocols for 5G Networks: Addressing Vulnerabilities and Opportunities in High-Speed Data Transmission

This paper presents 5G wireless communication services and clarifies that 5 G network deployment brings exceptional evolution in wireless access by using ultra-high-speed data transfer, huge connectivity, and ultra-low latency services. These benefits, however, are served alongside high security risks than conventional password protection systems. By making 5G an intricate and dispersed network infrastructure due to the emergence of IoT devices and subsequent network slicing, the attack vectors of cyber threats have been further broadened. This paper also discusses some of the significant security challenges in 5G networks which major are as follows; Man-inmiddle (MitM) attack Authentication bypass attack: Denial-ofservice (DoS) attack Rogue base stations Quantum computing threats: In an effort to mitigate the aforementioned challenges, we present a layered security model that shall include but not be limited to the following; Cov.ai AI based intrusion detection systems, ZTA, blockchain security, Post Quantum Cryptography. The performance of these advanced security measures is quantized in terms of detection rate, response time and encryption strength. Our findings show that the proposed system incorporating AI-based anomaly detection enhances threat avoidance and blockchain and quantum-resistant cryptography guarantees data authenticity and security. Based on this work, the researcher argues that AI, cryptography and Zero-Trust policies are critical elements required for designing security for the new generation wireless communications. The subsequent steps should be aimed at enhancing online threat identification, as well as expanding authentic quantum-safe cryptographic measures to protect 5G networks against novel cyber threats.
