KWAS 5-AMINOLEWULINOWY – SYNTEZA, WŁAŚCIWOŚCI ORAZ MOŻLIWOŚCI ZASTOSOWANIA
5-Aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) is a naturally occurring amino acid present in all living cells. Application of this compound across various fields is primarily attributed to its unique biochemical properties. As a precursor to heme, 5-ALA possesses the ability to be converted into protoporphyrin IX, a molecule with photosensitizing characteristics. Consequently, 5-ALA is employed in photodynamic pathogen inactivation and in photodynamic therapy and diagnostics targeting neoplastic tissues. Furthermore, 5-ALA enhances plant tolerance to abiotic stress factors and plays a critical role in metabolic processes essential for optimal plant growth. 5-ALA is used as a natural biostimulant, promoting increased chlorophyll synthesis and thereby enhancing photosynthetic efficiency. Extensive research is ongoing regarding the application of 5-ALA in animal husbandry and aquaculture
