Integration of metabolic and bioprocess engineering for the production of β-ketoadipic acid from glucose and xylose by Pseudomonas putida
β-Ketoadipic acid, an intermediate in aerobic microbial aromatic catabolism suitable as a monomer in performance-advantaged biopolymers, was produced at a high titer, rate, and yield from glucose and xylose in P. putida with in situ product recovery.
