Stellarquakes – Typology and Magnitude

Thisresearch is dealing with the new emerging discipline related to the so called “space seismology”, especially emphasizing to the study of so called stellarquakes. Using the diagram of H-R the classification of the fluid stars in general is adopted, than, the use of the methodology developed in early 30-tioes of XX century by C.F.Richter for the magnitude determination of earthquakes is applied to assess the magnitude of the stellarquakes occurring on the surfaces of fluid stars. Without calculating the total energy budget of energy emissions by the stars meaning thermal, light, particles, etc., energies, the focus is on the surface seismic waves observed and their power. Up to now, only sunquakes are registered and their seismic energy is determined and possibly transformed in the classical Richter magnitude. Having in mind that the idea of Richter was coming from the star magnitude classification used in astronomy that time, the assessment of stellarquakes’ magnitude is on the fundaments of the surface seismic waves magnitude determination. The analogy is used to assess the expected magnitude diapason of stellarquakes, normalized by the sunquakes where the seismic energy to magnitude is transformed. Such approach could be very useful in future research to assess the expected stellarquakes’ magnitudes. The new scale of stallarquakes magnitude assessment together with the diapason and uncertainties are developed and discussed in this work. The fast development of the space equipment – telescopes Hubble, Web and increases resolution of on land technologies are promising advances for the study of far space by remote sensing methods.
