Anti Bullying

In India, bullying remains a significant but often overlooked challenge in schools, affecting students' emotional well-being and academic engagement. This study examines the impact of bullying on students' interest, participation, and academic performance in school. The sample included students from 7th to 12th grade, aged 13 to 17, representing diverse educational backgrounds across urban and semi-urban regions.Using a mixed-methods approach, data was collected from 100 participants, including students from various schools.Quantitative data were gathered through structured questionnaires to measure the relationship between bullying and academic engagement, while qualitative insights were obtained through semi-structured interviews conducted via WhatsApp.Findings revealed that bullying-whether verbal, physical, or social-is still common in schools. Many students reported feeling anxious, isolated, and demotivated, leading to poor concentration, absenteeism, and reduced academic interest.A significant number of students hesitated to report bullying due to fear or a lack of support.Teachers acknowledged the issue but felt ill-equipped to intervene effectively. The study underscores the pressing need for awareness programs, preventive measures, and mental health support within schools.By creating safe and inclusive environments, schools can help students feel more secure and stay engaged in their academic journey.
