Experiences of online and face-to-face assessment of Artificial Intelligence subject

The COVID-19 outbreak brought with it several changes that have persisted in some areas. Online conferencing is of course more environmentally and economically friendly, but it cannot provide the networking and exchange of experiences that you can do in person over a coffee break or at the dinner table. Similarly, online opportunities are lagging behind in some areas of education, typically in higher education. In this article, we look at the practice introduced at the Budapest University of Economics and Business, where subjects are assessed online, while teaching is in person mode in full-time courses. In the Artificial Intelligence subject, it was possible to take one of the exams online and the other one in face-to-face mode, and the results were compared. The results of the analysis are presented in this paper.
