Innovation in the public sector encompasses a variety of objectives and outcomes, including improving efficiency and quality in the delivery of services to the private sector. The complexity of public sector challenges emphasises the need for emerging ways of promoting innovation. This article aims to carry out an exploratory review of the collaborative and integrative methodologies most commonly used in the context of governance and public policies to support innovation, identifying them and providing insights that may be useful for understanding these processes and their impact in the context of organisational innovation in public administration. These innovations, together with the concept of public value, are presented as ways of meeting society’s needs and demands in a more collaborative and effective way
