Discrete Event Simulation: A Behavior Modeling Framework for Evaluating Production Schedules
Digital twins, a key component of Industry 4.0 and IIoT, are extensively studied for their potential to enhance manufacturing efficiency. Recent advancements in the field of scheduling and planning have contributed by leveraging historical and live data, yet challenges such as data quantity and purity persist to accommodate the creation of larger and more detailed models. This study introduces a modeling framework for creating behavior models of manufacturing systems, aiming to evaluate production scheduling. The framework focuses on better interpretability and scalability, providing a more standardized workflow that supports future research and development in the field.
