Optimizing Automated Warehouse Operations: A Novel Approach to the Correlated Storage Location Assignment Problem (CSLAP)
Warehouse operations are crucial to the efficiency and effectiveness of supply chain management. The Correlated Storage Location Assignment Problem (CSLAP) stands at the heart of modern warehousing challenges, focusing on optimizing product placement to streamline order preparation processes. This study introduces an innovative approach to CSLAP, diverging from traditional methodologies that prioritize minimizing total travel distance within warehouses. Instead, our objective is to minimize the number of stations an order must pass through, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing preparation times.
