Graph-Theoretical Methods for Improving Feature Extraction in Complex Vision Tasks Using Graph Neural Networks (GNNs)
In complex vision tasks, the ability to effectively extract features from high-dimensional data is crucial for achieving accurate and robust model performance. Current approaches like CNN cannot make out the precise spatial layouts and spatial hierarchal patterns that are needed especially in complex problems. To overcome these limitations, it offers innovative GNN-based feature extraction that can learn local and global graph dependencies. The method to be presented here builds on graph-theoretical approaches in order to augment and fine-tune contextual analysis and feature learning. In this approach, graph is learned from the feature map produced by the CNNs, the graph detailing the relationship between the pixels or the objects. This enables the network to capture high level structures of the dependency and detail features at various resolutions to produce effective features. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed approach, COCO 2017 database that is frequently used for object detection, segmentation, and scene understanding benchmarks is used. The method has been deployed on Python, ensuring that the features is kept as low as possible; high-order spatial dependencies are captured; and computation is more efficient when graph-based pooling and message passing are employed. Moreover, the framework proves to be scalable, therefore providing for usage with big data sets and realistic environments. This approach yields great advantages to the researchers and practitioners in different fields of the computer vision especially in the autonomous driving vehicles, medical image analysis, and surveillance since it applicable, efficient and robust towards feature extraction on the complex vision problems.
