Design and Optimization of H.266/VVC-Dependent Quantization Algorithm

This research designs and optimizes a quantization algorithm for H.266/VVC to boost video coding efficiency and quality. It proposes novel ideas by analyzing inter-block, inter-frame, and content-adaptive quantization. To test the algorithm, a complete experimental setup is made. Diverse video sequences and public datasets are used, comparing with traditional and related algorithms. Coding parameters are set uniformly, and quantization parameter ranges are carefully chosen. Experiments show that the H.266/VVC-dependent quantization algorithm cuts the average BD-Rate by around 13.74% compared to H.264/AVC and 9.8% compared to H.265/HEVC. In subjective quality evaluation, the average score rises by about 2.27 points compared to H.264/AVC and 1.47 points compared to H.265/HEVC. The algorithm's complexity has little impact on coding efficiency and real-time performance. In conclusion, this algorithm excels in coding efficiency and subjective quality compared to traditional ones, having high application value and development potential.
