Application of Dynamic Fault Tree in Reliability Assessment of Diverse Actuation Systems in Nuclear Power Plants
The Diverse Actuation Systems (DAS) is one of the safety-critical systems in pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear power plants, and its reliable operation is essential for ensuring plant safety. This study employs dynamic fault tree analysis to model the reliability of DAS and evaluates the importance metrics of system components. The results of the reliability calculation and analysis demonstrate that implementing hot standby configuration significantly enhances system reliability. Furthermore, the results of the importance analysis can be used to improve the design of the system and give recommendations for periodic maintenance of the equipment.
