The design of a multi-parameter intelligent monitoring system for marine ranching based on cloud platforms

Marine fisheries, as an important component of the modern ocean economy, play a crucial role in the rational use of marine resources and the protection of marine ecology. However, China’s application research in the field of marine environmental monitoring started relatively later compared to foreign countries[1]. existing marine ranch monitoring systems face challenges such as high sensor costs, high data transmission requirements, and significant data processing and storage costs. To address these issues, this paper proposes a design scheme for a cloud-based multi-parameter intelligent monitoring system for marine ranches. The system consists of five parts: a sensor chain, an intelligent buoy, a gateway, a cloud server, and a user terminal. The sensor chain is composed of temperature sensors, turbidity sensors, and pH sensors. The application layer protocol uses a custom protocol based on the simplified HTTP protocol, and the communication layer protocol uses TCP. This design enables the sensor chain to collect data on temperature, turbidity, and pH values. The collected data is transmitted to the gateway via the intelligent buoy using long-range (LoRa) communication technology. The gateway then sends the data to the cloud server, which serves as the core for data processing and storage, capable of correctly parsing the data and completing data forwarding and storage. Finally, the user terminal can receive the data forwarded by the cloud server and display it. Through this cloud-based intelligent monitoring system, it is possible to effectively reduce the cost of marine ranch monitoring, improve the efficiency of data transmission and processing, and contribute to the sustainable use of marine resources.
