Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for Maritime Systems: Methods, Challenges, and Industrial Adoption

As a system engineering method, MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) is widely used in maritime systems, but its method characteristics, challenges and industrial adoption are not fully clear. In order to clarify the application of MBSE in the field of maritime systems, this paper uses CiteSpace to analyze relevant literatures at home and abroad, and summarizes the overall research status of MBSE and its application in maritime systems. The application scenarios of MBSE in maritime field, the challenges and development direction in the future are discussed. The results show that in MBSE related research, system modeling, electromechanical system, digital twin are the core research direction, and international research shows obvious technology leadership and application foresight compared with domestic research. In terms of MBSE applications in the maritime systems, system modeling, intelligent ships, construction management and operation are the core topics, indicating its broad industrial application. In the future, it is also necessary to solve multi-level challenges such as modeling language conversion, and further enhance the ability of multi-disciplinary co-simulation and deep integration with artificial intelligence technology.
