Background leakage detection on pipeline using Te phasor

This article addresses the critical challenge of detecting leaks in pipeline systems, where traditional phasor analysis often falls short, especially under complex multicomponent signal conditions. To tackle this, the authors have developed an innovative mathematical tool, the ${\mathcal{T}_e}$ phasor, designed to enhance the accuracy and reliability of multicomponent signal analysis by enabling precise identification of all phase components and their corresponding energy levels. The effectiveness of the ${\mathcal{T}_e}$ phasor is validated through rigorous simulations and controlled laboratory experiments involving water leaks, demonstrating its superior performance over classical phasor methods in terms of detection accuracy and noise resilience. The findings suggest that the ${\mathcal{T}_e}$ phasor could significantly improve leak detection technologies and has potential applications in other signal processing domains.
