An Efficient IoT Based Wireless Sensor Network with Pigeon Inspired Routing
Wireless Sensor Network (WSNs) is a crucial approach for the modern Internet of Things (IoT) applications. WSN consists of energy constrained Sensor Nodes (SN) that communicate to the Base Station (BS) for transmitting data. WSN based IoT technology is widely used in various fields such as military, agriculture, healthcare, and smart cities. However, WSNs face significant challenges, particularly in routing the data and energy inefficiency due to the limited resources of SN. Conventional routing techniques often fail to attain efficient Quality of Service (QoS), high Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), low latency, and enhanced energy optimization. This paper proposes an efficient IoT-based WSN utilizing Pigeon Inspired Optimization (PIO) routing protocols to select optimal path for routing. The proposed routing method regulates as the natural flocking behaviour of pigeons to optimize the network routing by considering the factors like energy efficiency, network lifetime, and PDR. This approach aims to enhance scalability, minimize latency, and improve overall performance of the IoT environment. This study explores the benefits of intelligent optimization techniques in developing routing protocols, providing an optimal solution to the dynamic nature of WSNs while enabling optimal routing path for flexible network operation in IoT applications.
