Method for Image Restoration in Oil Well Drilling Fluid
In oilfield drilling and extraction operations, oil well casings are susceptible to issues such as misalignment, breakage, and deformation. When inspecting the casings, the large amount of suspended particles and oil contaminants in the drilling fluid causes strong scattering and absorption of light, resulting in blurred images that make it challenging to accurately assess the condition of the casing's inner wall. This study calculates the attenuation coefficient of light in the oil well drilling fluid to obtain transmittance images. It then uses an underwater imaging model to reconstruct the target images from the drilling fluid. The experimental results indicate that the restoration method proposed in this paper can successfully recover target details and achieve more visually accurate outcomes.
