Investigating the impact of substitution on the optoelectronic properties of benzothiophenone S,S -dioxide
Dyes were synthesized from 3,5,6-tribromobenzothiophene S,S -dioxide via a versatile intermediate enabling couplings, condensations, and conjugation, yielding IR-absorbing dyes tunable as donors or acceptors with LUMO ≈ −4 eV for solar cells.
