Harnessing AI for Sustainable Manufacturing: A Comprehensive Impact Assessment
Europe is going through a phase of readaptation to the new global reality. Due to the excessive consumption of natural resources and high energy consumption, it is necessary to increase the reuse of materials and products, as well as reduce production. In this way, the AIDEAS11https://aideas-project.eu/ The project is developing solutions for the industry, specifically for industrial equipment, to extend the life cycle and increase the usage of industrial equipment. Due to this situation, the project developed a framework to evaluate the impact of the solutions implemented in the four pilots of the AIDEAS project. This structure was created to assess the different pilots from various perspectives, including technological, environmental, economic, and social aspects, as they are installed in the manufacturing processes for each phase of AIDEAS: Design, Manufacturing, Use and Recycling, Repair, and Reuse. This paper presents the ESTEIA framework developed within the project and its application in the pilots.
