Construction of an Information Service Platform for Overseas Chinese Affairs with Digital Humanities
With the rapid advancement of information technology, libraries-as pivotal hubs of information resources -have intensified their focus on developing specialized collections. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and machine learning, these institutions can now systematically analyze, reorganize, and manage their unique holdings intelligently. This shift transforms special collections from merely digitized archives into a datadriven, intelligently curated ecosystem. Consequently, it better aligns with emerging research methodologies in the humanities and social sciences, thereby enhancing the quality and impact of scholarly work in these disciplines. This article takes the Overseas Chinese Information Service Platform at Jinan University as a case study, examining its architectural design, functional features, and development strategies. It explores how innovative technologies facilitate the advancement of special collections, aiming to provide valuable insights and inspiration for library and information science professionals engaged in similar endeavors.
