GSM based LPG Leakage Detector with SMS Alert System
Gas leakage detection is crucial for ensuring safety and preventing potential hazards in industrial settings, residential areas, and transportation systems. Conventional techniques for detecting gas leaks frequently depend on manual examinations or simple sensor systems, which may not be able to identify slow or small leaks, posing a risk to public safety and causing environmental harm. This paper presents the design and implementation of a GSM-based LPG leakage detection system aimed at enhancing safety in environments where liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is used. The proposed system integrates a gas sensor with a GSM module to provide real-time monitoring and alerting capabilities. The gas sensor detects LPG concentration levels and upon detecting a leak, the system triggers an alert via SMS to predefined mobile numbers. This early warning mechanism is crucial for preventing potential hazards associated with LPG leaks, such as explosions or fires. The system’s design incorporates a microcontroller that processes sensor data and manages communication with the GSM module. Experimental results demonstrate the system’s effectiveness in accurately detecting gas leaks and promptly notifying users.
