A capacity configuration strategy for marine hybrid power storage system
Electric propulsion system for ships has gradually become the mainstream propulsion method due to its high efficiency and reliability, reducing greenhouse effect as well. The ship power system based on DC power grid is widely applied on engineering ships and specific ships with DC loads. However, during navigating, sudden load increased triggers large fluctuations on DC bus bar voltage, which affects the stability and operating efficiency of the power system. Therefore, a hybrid energy storage system equipped with lithium battery and super capacitor is introduced by combining the characteristics of energy-type and power-type energy storage components to suppress voltage fluctuations caused by sudden load variation. This paper introduces a capacity configuration strategy based on beetle swarm optimization for marine hybrid energy storage system, and practical constraint conditions are considered for formulating the optimized objective function. The optimized result is applied for modeling the marine hybrid power system, and the strategy is verified by the simulation.
