Advanced Fuel Dispensing using FASTag - Linked Payment System

Traditional fuel payment options, such as cash transactions and digital wallets, have inefficiencies like slow transaction times, security flaws, and a dependency on manual input. These difficulties contribute to higher operational expenses, customer unhappiness, and possibly fraud. This study offers a Fastag-enabled payment system that uses Near Field Communication (NFC) and Internet of Things (IoT) technology to automate gasoline transactions securely and effectively. The system supports seamless authentication using Fastag integration, which greatly reduces transaction time while increasing security through encrypted data transfers. Experimental study shows that the average transaction time is reduced from 45-60 seconds (manual methods) to 10-35 seconds, with a success percentage of 97.8%. This research proves the feasibility and benefits of an automated, contactless gasoline payment ecosystem, opening the door for future advancements such as AI-driven fraud detection and interoperability with other digital payment infrastructures.
