Exploring the role of digital da’wah in promoting green initiatives: A mini review
The utilisation of digital da’wah to promote green technology and environmental sustainability in Malaysia faces several challenges. These include limited access to technology in rural areas and content that might not be appealing or relevant to everyone. Additionally, the existence of cultural and social differences means that some individuals still prefer conventional da’wah methods. This study explores the potential of digital da’wah in enhancing awareness, knowledge, and actions towards environmental preservation from an Islamic perspective. The findings suggest that digital da’wah holds significant promise in effectively disseminating messages about environmental conservation in an engaging and interactive manner. However, success in this area depends on having adequate technological resources and addressing concerns about safety and information transparency. Consequently, effectively using digital da’wah could significantly support efforts to safeguard the natural environment and build a community dedicated to positive environmental changes, despite the challenges that must be addressed.
