EFEITOS DA BANDAGEM NEUROMUSCULAR COMO RECURSO TERAPÊUTICO EM PACIENTES COM DOR NO JOELHO

ABSTRACT Knee pain is a common problem that compromises quality of life and the performance of simple daily activities. Several physiotherapeutic strategies have been proposed in clinical practice, including the use of neuromuscular taping, as a therapeutic approach for individuals with knee pain. Neuromuscular taping is an elastic adhesive tape that can be applied as an adjunct in pain control and improvement of function in individuals with knee pain. This study aimed to verify the effects of neuromuscular taping on pain relief and knee functionality. The methodology used consisted of a literature review in the PubMed, Scielo and Google Scholar databases, with a time frame of 2014 and 2024, in English and Portuguese. After analyzing the articles, it can be concluded that neuromuscular taping is an effective complementary technique for reducing pain and improving functionality in individuals with knee pain, and that it needs to be applied by trained physiotherapists, since its application needs to be individualized to meet the individual needs of each patient.
