Aportaciones del Journaling como Instrumento para el Desarrollo Humano y Académico del Estudiante Universitario

Problem Statement: Public institutions of higher education have neglected the importance of implementing tools within their curriculum that facilitates the development of not only cognitive skills—those involved in the mental processes that allow us to receive, process, structure, and apply information—but also soft skills, which are developed through self-awareness and self-acceptance, and which directly impact students' overall well-being and contribute significantly to their academic success. Methodology: This research project follows an analytical-documentary, qualitative-descriptive, non-experimental design, conducted through an action-research approach during the months of April to July 2025. Results: The implementation of university programs with a holistic and innovative approach is essential. These programs should promote and support human and academic development through neuroscience, as well as encourage the creation of a manual that allows students to learn about and apply journaling strategies best suited to their needs for both personal well-being and academic success. Additionally, it is crucial to provide training for educators who are willing to recognize the importance of integrating this tools into the classroom and support students throughout this process.
