Optical broadband characterization of scattering and absorbing media (Conference Presentation)
Accurate knowledge of optical properties in scattering and absorbing media is essential for various applications, including medical, technical, and industrial fields. Key properties include the scattering coefficient, absorption coefficient, scattering phase function, and refractive index. Over the past 30 years, we have developed over a dozen devices to measure these properties across a broad spectral range, including setups for fluorescing and phosphorescing media. This expertise supports advancements in process control, fluorescence microscopy, optical coherence tomography, and more. The ability to measure these properties is crucial for developing digital optical twins, optimizing both new and existing systems.
