The characteristics of nonprofit organizations in the state of Chihuahua

The research related to nonprofit organizations is scarce, which causes a lack of knowledge of their current status. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to describe the nonprofit organizations in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. In order to do so, it was obtained 532 transparency declarations of the fiscal year 2022 with which a database was built, which was later subjected to a descriptive statistical analysis. Among the main results it can be mentioned that most of the organizations have as their social purpose to carry out welfare, educational and cultural activities, however, even though the welfare organizations are the ones that have a greater number of employees, volunteers and obtain more revenue, the ones that have a greater number of beneficiaries are the ones dedicated to public works or services. It is concluded that it is necessary to use other methods to determine the beneficiaries.
