TRAUMATISMO DENTÁRIO INFANTIL: DESAFIOS E ESTRATÉGIAS EDUCATIVAS PARA PROFESSORES DO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL

Dental trauma in children represents a significant public health challenge due to its functional, aesthetic, and psychological consequences. Schools, as environments with a high incidence of such events, serve as strategic settings for educational actions aimed at the prevention and initial management of these traumas. This study aimed to train municipal school teachers to recognize and appropriately manage cases of childhood dental trauma. To this end, an informative booklet was developed and presented during the Collective Pedagogical Work Hours (HTPC), followed by the distribution of the material for further consultation. The theoretical foundation was based on a literature review conducted in specialized databases, applying rigorous selection criteria. Results revealed limited prior knowledge among teachers about the subject and high interest in the training. The study highlights the need for continuous and intersectoral programs involving educators, caregivers, and health professionals to improve the prognosis of childhood dental traumas. Integration between health and education sectors is essential to promote the well-being and quality of life of children.
