Sobre la espiritualidad y su comprensión en el ´ámbito católico

The objective of this article is to present a comprehensive synthesis about the spirituality category and its development in the Catholic context. To achieve this, a documentary review on the topic was carried out in books and magazine articles, as part of the categorical exploration exercise for the moment of apprehending the correlational hermeneutic method of the doctoral thesis. It is presented in six sections from the etymological approach to its understanding as a theological discipline. As a partial result of the doctoral research in Theology, it is concluded that Christian spirituality is the lived experience of the loving self-donation of God in the person of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit that is authenticated in the charity commitment with the neighbor.
