Analysis of a Self-Injected Super-Regenerative Oscillator for Motion Sensing
A realistic analysis of a motion sensor based on a self-injection-locked super-regenerative oscillator (SI-SRO) is presented. It is based on a semi-analytical formulation of the switched oscillator, which, for the first time, considers the autonomous operation of the SRO in the presence of a signal reflected by a moving target. Unlike previous works, it accounts for the feedback effects throughout each quench cycle, influencing both the linear and nonlinear transient stages. The SI-SRO is modeled in terms of the time elapsed from the beginning of each quench cycle, which significantly reduces the computational cost. The analysis is successfully validated with experimental measurements.
