Dual Band Monopole Textile Antenna for Bluetooth Lower Energy and Wireless Local Area Network System

This article explains the utilization of a dual-frequency textile for Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and Wireless local area network (WLAN). The Bluetooth antenna is used to design and develop an antenna for devices using Bluetooth low energy and wireless local area network on the human body, including a specific direction of wave propagation to increase the operating distance and have less impact on the body. The antenna around the body. The base material employed in this study is OG-107 military uniform fabric, which has a dielectric constant (ε<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">r</inf>) of 2.50 and a thickness of 0.73 mm. The antenna obtained has dimensions of 90 x 60 mm2 and the measurement results show that the antenna has a usable frequency in the range of 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, which can cover the operating range of Bluetooth low energy technology and wireless local area networks. The antenna’s radiation emission results have an omnidirectional radiation pattern at 2.4 GHz it has 273 MHz bandwidth, and at 5.8 GHz it has 1196 MHz bandwidth. For 2.4 GHz frequency average gain of 0.79 dBi and 5.8 GHz frequency average gain of 2.3 dBi with a |S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">11</inf>| value below less than -10 dB at both frequencies.
