Performance Evaluation of Proximity-Based Indoor Visible Light Positioning with Signal Interference
This work investigates the performance of proximity-based indoor Visible Light Positioning (VLP) subject to signal interference between adjacent Light Emitting Diode (LED) transmitters. Given the spacing between LED transmitters on the ceiling, the system performance is evaluated in terms of the percentage of service positions with sufficiently low transmission error probabilities. For data transmissions, Pulse Position Modulation (PPM) is adopted for Intensity Modulation with Direct Detection (IM/DD). In addition, the advantage of Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) in mitigating signal interference between adjacent LED transmitters is investigated.
