Privacy Concern Consideration in Smart Homes Device Usage in Indonesia
This research explores the influence of privacy on the intention to use smart home devices. Employing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SMART-PLS, data were gathered between November 2024 and January 2025 through a Google Forms survey targeting Indonesian and received 417 respondents, but only 367 of data can be used. Purposive sampling was used to collect responses, focusing on individuals familiar with smart home technology. The study examines the relations of variables such as Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Benefits, Perceived Risk, Intention to Use, Privacy Concern, Facilitating Conditions, and Social Influence using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results indicate that six hypotheses are significantly supported. Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Risk has a impact on Perceived Benefits. Perceived Benefits, Social Influence, Facilitating Condition and Privacy Concern has a impact on Intention to Use Smart Home. The implication of the study is that improving the usability of the devices, building trust through supporting the users, and promoting social acceptance will greatly increase the adoption of the smart home technology and promote usage of smart home devices.
