Design and Implementation of Metaverse for a Self-Learning Platform: a Case Study in KMUTNB Techno Park
This paper introduces the KMUTNB Techno Park Metaverse, an online learning platform jointly developed by the Technology Park of King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok and Chulalongkorn University. By combining immersive 3D environments with introductory computer programming and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) lessons, the developed platform provides an engaging space for students, professionals, and the general public to learn at their own pace. A digital twin-based simulation allows learners to experience realistic coding scenarios, reinforcing practical skills that are highly valued in today’s technology driven industries. Through this interactive virtual setting, participants can explore programming fundamentals, collaborate with peers, and receive structured guidance all without the limitations of physical classrooms. The KMUTNB Techno Park Metaverse highlights the promise of metaverse technology for broadening access to education, preparing learners for the evolving demands of the digital workforce.
