Power Control in Uplink Indoor Ultra Dense Networks

This paper studies the performance of indoor ultradense networks (UDNs) under the impacts of walls. Thus, the users are distinguished by Light-of-Sight (LoS) and nLoS transmission scenarios. Unlike the LoS users, the nLoS suffers higher path losses which are function of wall induction capability, length and its density. Therefore, these users usually achieve lower performance. Thus, the paper utilizes a power control scheme to increase the nLoS user transmission power in order to compensate a part of path loss. Simulation results for Nakagami-m channel conditions demonstrate that an increases in power control coefficient reflects on an fast increase in coverage probability before passing a slow decline. Particularly, the proposed approach enhances the nLoS user coverage probability by up to 25.6%. In addition, the density of BSs and wall induction coefficient only have slight effects on the coverage probability.
