Research on motion tracking and impact force detection of flying objects

Our research primarily focuses on the detection methods for motion parameters and collision impact forces of flying objects. Firstly, we established a system designed to measure motion parameters and collision impact forces associated with airborne objects. A calibration experiment was performed on the binocular camera to guarantee swift and precise image capture across different flight modes of the object. Further, a novel approach that integrates Otsu's method with the three-frame difference technique was proposed to avoid the "hole" issue that arises during high-frame-rate image acquisition. Lastly, the equations governing the motion of the marked ball across various flight modes were derived utilizing a binocular vision system. A series of experiments were performed to quantify the motion parameters and impact forces resulting from collisions of the flying marked ball under a range of conditions.
