DISMANTLING THE INDEPENDENCE OF ANTI-CORRUPTION AGENCIES IN UKRAINE: LEGAL ANALYSIS AND IMPLICATIONS FOR REFORMS AND EUROPEAN INTEGRATION
This article examines the impact of Law of Ukraine No. 12414, adopted on July 22, 2025, on the institutional independence of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). The law significantly expands the powers of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, effectively subordinating key anti-corruption bodies to his authority. The article analyzes the legal implications of these changes, the international response, and the potential impact on Ukraine’s path toward European integration and the rule of law.
