Optimal Energy-sharing and Temperature Regulation in District Heating Systems
We consider the problem of temperature regulation and optimal energy sharing in district heating systems, without having a knowledge of the demand, while also maintaining a good transient performance. We show that convex optimization problems can be formulated for jointly achieving optimal temperature regulation and energy sharing. Furthermore, we show that LQR formulations can converge to this optimal operating point, without having a knowledge of the demand, while minimising also prescribed transient performance metrics. The effectiveness of our approach is also validated through comprehensive simulations.
