Home Automation System: A Comparative Analysis of Popular Home Automation Technologies Based on Performance, Scalability, and user Experience

Home automation systems serve as the interface for smart grids, enabling Smart gadgets put in residences and commercial buildings allow for energy monitoring and control. Given the wide range of home automation solutions on the market, consumers often face challenges in selecting the most suitable option. Currently, there is a lack of comprehensive guidelines to assist users in making informed decisions. In order to address this gap in the research literature and provide consumers with additional information based on the state of the home automation industry, this article compares common home automation systems from the viewpoint of the user. This paper compares the most popular home automation technologies including RF-based systems, Bluetooth-based systems, GSM, WIFI & ZIGBEE. By evaluating their features, performance, scalability, energy efficiency, security, and cost. The purpose of this study is to shed light on each technology’s advantages and disadvantages, with an emphasis on communication protocols & compatibility. With this guiding users and developers in selecting suitable solutions for diverse applications. Or therefore with this knowledge, informed decisions can be made.
