Ransomware Detection: Challenges and Techniques
Ransomware is a growing cyber threat that targets individuals, businesses, and critical services, causing data loss and financial harm. Early detection is crucial to preventing encryption and minimizing damage. This paper examines the challenges of ransomware detection, including its evolving tactics, limited research data, and ability to evade security systems. It explores various detection methods, such as pattern recognition, behavioral analysis, and machine learning. While these approaches improve detection, they also have limitations like false positives and high resource usage. To enhance real-time detection, we propose advanced AI-driven techniques and hybrid security frameworks. This study provides insights to strengthen ransomware defense and improve cybersecurity strategies.
