Enhancing Email Usability with Speech and NLP for Blind and Visually Impaired Users
With the rise of the internet, the popularity of email has increased and almost finished the use of traditional mail. But still, in today’s day and age, a huge number of people belonging to the section of Blind and Visually Impaired (BVI) are unable to use email seamlessly to communicate with others. This paper presents the development and implementation of innovative software that provides a platform that Blind and Visually Impaired (BVI) individuals can use to communicate with others via email seamlessly. This approach combines three fundamental methodologies: first, TTS (Text to Speech) and STT (Speech to Text) for translation between text and voice; then, sentiment-based segregation of emails to increase productivity, and voice command-based control of the application to cater to people with disabilities as well as busy professionals. This software bridges the gap between usability and efficiency. This paper discusses the architecture, design, and testing of this software, all the while discussing the limitations and potential improvements that can be made to this software.
