Design and research of posture monitoring and positioning system for the elderly based on MQTT
The proportion of elderly people in China is increasing year by year, and the number of accidents such as falls and disorientation among the elderly is also on the rise. This phenomenon is closely related to the family planning policy once implemented in China. The declining birth rate has led to an increasing number of elderly people lacking effective companionship and care. This paper designs and implements a hardware system for elderly posture monitoring and positioning based on MQTT. The system uses electronic badges equipped with posture monitoring and positioning sensors to collect data on the posture and location of the elderly. It also expands the functions of a personal photo album and medical history through ink screen display technology. Research findings show that through this system, caregivers can better focus on and care for the health and safety of the elderly, and this conclusion remains valid after a series of robustness tests. This paper presents a new type of wearable elderly safety monitoring device, which also provides a reference for other wearable monitoring systems.
