Experimental Design of the Influence of Virtual Scene Immersion Difference on Knowledge Transfer
Immersive Virtual Reality (IVR) has been shown to create a more realistic learning environment for learners by combining multi-sensory stimuli, such as visual, auditory, and tactile, to provide users with a comprehensive immersive experience .Multi-sensory feedback and interactivity in IVR environments have been demonstrated to enhance the learners’ affective experience and self-efficacy, which in turn improves learning motivation and engagement. Therefore, the immersion level of virtual scenes has an important impact on knowledge transfer. The present study aims to explore the impact of the difference in immersion caused by different virtual scene display devices on knowledge transfer. To this end, the study will compare the immersion of VR headset, CAVE, PC and mobile in virtual scenes, set up experimental and control groups, and plan the experimental process in detail. The experimental design is meticulously crafted to investigate the impact of the immersion level difference of the four terminals on learners’ knowledge transfer ability in the same virtual scene for two topics, Samsung Heap Copper Civilization and Chip Manufacturing. The primary objective is to provide a theoretical foundation and practical guidance for the interdisciplinary classroom in choosing the VR display terminals for teaching. The experimental presets indicate the potential for a positive, negative or irrelevant relationship between immersion and knowledge transfer, with the relationship between immersion and knowledge transfer displaying different trends in different topics. This necessitates further exploration of factors such as differences in subject content and the backgrounds of the test subjects.
