Design and Implementation of a Pulsed Electromagnetic Induction Metal Detector
Currently, the primary metal detection methods in use or under development include electromagnetic induction, magnetic methods, ground-penetrating radar, ultrasound, and nuclear quadrupole resonance, among others [3]. Among these, electromagnetic induction stands as the mainstream technology for metal detection, primarily identifying metallic targets by detecting their conductive shells. This paper focuses on the requirement for detecting metal targets at greater depths and presents a metal detector system based on the principle of pulsed electromagnetic induction. The system employs a single-loop coil, specifically an overlapping loop, as both the transmitting and receiving coil, offering a novel approach to metal detection.
