Reducing Adverse Conditions in Traditional Hybrid Microgrid Caused by Variable Irradiation Through the Integration of MPPT-Enabled PV
A A traditional hybrid microgrid usually integrates a photovoltaic (PV) system alongside a wind turbine. It would be reasonable to think that components affecting power generation in such configuration operate under best scenario conditions, but this is not completely true as these variables tend to change dramatically. Of note, the changeable irradiance is critical to the power output of hybrid microgrid, especially when it is in islanded mode, operating independently. The good news is that when a PV array is installed along with MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking), we harness these changes in irradiance and minimize its negative impacts.
